Biography
Oswald G. Villard, Jr. (S'38, A'41, SM'51) was born at Dobbs Ferry, N. Y., on September 17, 1916. He received the B.A. degree in English literature from Yale University in 1938, and the E.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University, in 1943 and 1949, respectively.
Dr. Villard has been a member of the staff of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University since 1941, with the exception of the years 1942 to 1946, when he served as a special research associate at the Radio Research Laboratory, Harvard University.
Dr. Villard was an assistant professor engaged in undergraduate instruction, and research. He was a member of Sigma Xi and Phi Beta Kappa.
