Biography

John J. Egli was born on October 22, 1911, in Teaneck, N.J. He was graduated from Cooper Union in 1933 with the degree Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. The E. E. degree was conferred by New York University in 1940. He continued graduate work at Rutgers University. In 1929 Mr. Egli entered the Engineering Department of the Mackay Radio and Telegraph Company where he was engaged in the design and installation of radiotelegraph equipment. In 1936 he became a member of the Commercial Products Department of the Bell Telephone Laboratories where he participated in the design of radio-broadcast equipment, magnetic tape devices, and voder equipment.

Since 1941 Mr. Egli has been associated with the U. S. Army Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. At present he is Chief of the Electromagnetic Environment Division. He has authored numerous papers in fields of Wave Propagation, Electromagnetic Compatibility and Advanced Radio Communications.

Mr. Egli was a Senior Member of IEEE and Vice-Chairman of G-EMC. He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu.
